2023 September Professionals of the Month

Logan Lanphier is a senior from Erskine Academy, enrolled in the Plumbing and Heating program for the second year at Capital Area Technical Center (CATC). Logan has liked the program because he feels that his instructor makes the class fun, and he has learned a lot. The knowledge Logan has gained in the program has helped him in his job with Hatch Well Drillers. Drilling the well and then installing the water service into the house are things that the course has has helped him succeed at. His instructor, Mr. Nick Smith, said, “Logan is a student that puts his head down and gets right to work. He is a quiet leader and is the type of student that lets his actions do the talking. Logan is a valuable member of our class and I have no doubt that he will continue to be successful after graduation.” Logan’s plan after he graduates this year is to continue to work for Hatch Well Drillers.

Congrats to CATC’s September Professional of the Month Ayden Martin!

Ayden is a senior from Richmond High School, enrolled for the second year in the Building Construction program at CATC. He has really enjoyed the hands-on, practical instruction in the program. He has been able to complete many independent projects in the program, including two tables and a shelf. He is currently building a desk. When he is not in school, Ayden can be found hanging out with his friends. His instructor, Mr. Thomas Holzwarth said, “Ayden shows up to every class wanting to learn. He is quiet, dependable, and patient. He is a committed, focused worker and sees every project to the end.” After graduation, Ayden plans to take advantage of the free Maine Community College tuition program and continue his study of Building Construction at Central Maine Community College.
