Welcome Back! Parents/Guardians, please review.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to the start of another great year! We welcome you as our partners and value your involvement in your child’s education.
We know you have hopes and dreams for your child’s success in school and beyond. Making sure your child attends school every day possible this year will help those hopes and dreams happen.
The evidence is clear. Good attendance is key to keeping students on track academically and engaging them in all aspects of school life. This is true at any age and in all grades. Missing just one or two school days a month can add up to missing 4 to 5 weeks of the school year. School is a place for learning and also for making new friendships, discovering new interests, and building confidence/self-esteem. All these positive experiences support long-term academic success school and future job success.
Some absences cannot be avoided. Students must stay home when they are unwell.
should avoid extended vacations that require students to miss school. Kindly try to line up vacations with the school’s schedule. We also encourage you to avoid scheduling medical appointments during school time whenever possible.
Let’s work together to support your child getting to school on time every day this year. If you have questions about your students’ progress at the Capital Area Technical Center please contact me.
Sincerely,
James Holland
