April 2021 Professionals of the Month
Isaiah Barden is a senior from Maranacook Community High School enrolled in the Business Academy program. He has found the knowledge he has gained through the program helpful already in many aspects of his life. He has learned about leadership, managing a business, using programs in the Microsoft office suite, motivation, psychology and problem solving models. His instructor, Mrs. Angela Dostie, said, “Isaiah is an excellent student—positive, engaged, and conscientious. He always has a smile on his face, and is well-liked by his classmates.” When he’s not in school, Isaiah likes to read books and attend physical training sessions. Isaiah will leave for boot camp with the United States Marine Corps in June and is excited to pursue his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), which is Combat Support.
Antonio “Tony” Marino is a senior from Hall-Dale High School enrolled in the Building Construction program. He is proud of the 4 projects he has been able to complete, which have included a wood box and a coffee table. He currently is working on building a playhouse structure for his nieces. His instructor, Mr. Thomas Holzwarth said, “Tony is the greatest. He has helped me tremendously adjusting to when we have had to provide online instruction. Tony would get online early with me to test things out, so when the other students joined the online class, all the kinks had already been worked out. Tony has picked up great skills this year and is going to be a great carpenter.” Tony spends his spare time playing soccer, wrestling, watching TV with family and working out. In the fall, Tony will attend Central Maine Community College to continue his study of Building Construction.
