Shelby Berlew is a senior from Gardiner Area High School enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant program. Last year, Shelby completed the Early Childhood Education program at CATC. She enjoys the hands-on learning opportunities at CATC, and describes the classes as not learning so much just out of a book. Her Certified Nursing Instructor, Ms. Bethany Sherman says, “Shelby is everything you want in a student and more. She is honest, professional, hardworking, kind, organized, well respected by her peers and a natural leader.” Shelby has been inducted into CATC’s chapter of the National Technical Honor Society. When she is not in school, Shelby is competing with the Maine Boom Junior Olympic Volleyball team. In the future, Shelby plans to combine her love of working with children and the medical field.
