Building Trades Program Summary
The Building Trades Program offers students the chance to learn basic carpentry skills using both hand and power tools. Students experience components of building construction within the shop as well as in the community. Students are provided the opportunity to learn at their own pace, and may work on personal projects.
The following are the expectations of this course:
1. You must wear safety glasses at all times in the work area. If you do not where safety glasses you will have to leave the program.
2. You will stay busy working at your own pace.
3. You will be evaluated on the following: attendance, clean-up, attitude, safety, teamwork, and problem solving as well as weekly tests and quizzes.
4. Homework will be passed in on time. A lower grade will reflect late assignments.
5. You are expected to call here at CATC if you are going to be absent. (626-2475 ext. 3124)
6. You have two weeks to make up missed time or three points will be deducted from your quarterly grade for each day absent.
7. You will follow all the rules and regulations stated in the Parent Student Handbook.
