The CATC Law Enforcement Program is based on the following standards:

  • High standards of ethical and moral behavior in and out of the classroom

Students shall:

 conduct themselves in a professional manner in and out of the classroom.

 visible body piercing is prohibited unless approved by the Instructor

 mustaches shall be neatly trimmed - hair shall not cover any portion of the ear or extend beyond the collar

 no beards or goatees  (clean shaven) – sideburns shall not extend below the bottom of the ear lobe

 respect one another as well as all staff, instructors / guest speakers.

 pride themselves in being committed and dedicated to the Law Enforcement Program.

 address instructors/guest speakers and staff as Mr. Mrs. Ms. or Sir / M’am

 purchase a notebook and 3” binder (bring to class daily)

 organize all notes, handouts, returned journal entries, and other class material in the 3” binder

 take notes during class as notes may be the only record of instructions that are presented.

 attend class daily (see attendance policy – page 10-11 in Parent Student Handbook)

 keep daily journals referring to the topic of the day (what knowledge or skill you gained etc…) 

 come to class daily with all materials necessary including uniform of the day to participate in the class or training

 turn work in when due (5 points will be deducted for each day work is late unless prior arrangements are made)

 adhere to attendance contracts / violation of attendance contract shall result in dismissal from program

 be responsible for the purchase of black uniform boots & black athletic gym pants

 participation is mandatory in all components of the program-defensive tactics, drill & ceremony, use of force, etc…

 

There is zero tolerance for the following conduct:

ridicule of one another or harassment will not be tolerated

inappropriate language, jokes, comments, etc...  in and out of the classroom shall be forbidden

smoking and/or intoxicants on school property as well as school sponsored functions and/or events

(Unethical and immoral conduct / behavior and criminal conduct on or off school property will be investigated

 and referred to the appropriate personnel)

 

Students are required to model respect in the classroom by:

 turning cell phones off during class time

 removing hats from head

 dressing as per the Dress Code (see page 15 of the Parent Student Handbook)

 sitting in assigned seat as designated by instructor

 

Class Make-up Policy and Extra Help:

Students are required to make-up work with the instructor within five school days of the absence.

(Two points will be deducted from the quarter/trimester grade for each incident.  Hours for make-up are between

1:30-3:00 p.m. with prior appointment.)
